Trip to Jordan-part 2

We got up at around 0615 to take the bus at 0700. the bus came and picked us up at the hostel, but drove to the bus station where we had to wait for the bus to fill up. Eventually it did, and we spent the following hours sleeping. When we reached Aqaba the first thing we did was to find a hostel. After checking out a few places we finally settled with the "special room" after having had the option between the "normal" (dirty) and the "special"(less dirty). We figured it was only for a night, and we would be spending most of our last day in Jordan outside.

The weather was nice and warm, and we headed for the beach. Unfortunately luxury hotels such as the Mövenpick and Intercontinental have claimed parts of the beach as theirs, and the entrance fee was about 20 euro for a day.We quicky found a taxi driver who could take us away to a free beach for a quarter of the price. He took us to a friend of his, the manager of a youth hostel located next to the beach, who, depsite of our concerns and suspiciosness, turned out to be a velcoming and OK guy. I had brought my swimsuit, snorkel and mask, and was prepared to do some snorkeling for the first time in my life. Then a colleauge of the manager proposed to show me around. I have to say that at that moment I would have preferred to go by myself, but afterwards I was happy that I had someone at my side to show me the way and to point out the cool places.

One happy snorkler

I did actually find Nemo. No sea turtles though...Oh well next time...

We went back to Aqaba center for some ice cream.

Apollo is everywhere, also in Aqaba

We got some new friends, the curly haired was very eager to practice her english with us. Both of the girls went to an international school in Aqaba, and really good in english taken their age into consideration.

We returned to the hostel to freshen up, and went back to the same place to have a drink, and to watch the sunset.

After the sun was gone we went to a restaurant for some sea food, then to a cafe nearby to have tea and arguila(water pipe). Then we went back to the hostel, watched some TV, and went to bed.
The next day we got up early. We took the taxi to the border(this time paying half of what we payed to get from the border). The control on the jordanian side was a funny experience, we were laughing all the way from Jordan to Israel. The passport control on the Israeli side took us less than 5 min. So when finally arriving to the bus-station we had a lot of time left. This was spent on a cafe, and by the beach.

It was a really hot day, and it was good to cool down a bit.

We took the bus a couple of hors later. And that was the end of our journey to Jordan.

Today we are going to go to Jerusalem to eat sushi, and to have a girl's night out. Will be fun :-)
