I heard a good anectdote the other day and I wanted to share it with you.
A man wanted to go from Betlehem to Ramallah to go to the hospital. He had to cross a checkpoint in order to get there. There was already a lot of people there. The soldiers told the man that they would let him pass if he took of his hat and left it at the checkpoint. The man took of his hat and gave it to the soldiers. Then they told him to take off his shoes and leave them at the checkpoint. Then the man protested. He said to them that he could not walk without his shoes. The soldiers didn't seem to care about this so the man left his shoes there. Finally the asked him to make them a cup of tea, and then he would be able to pass. The man went to a place to get tea for the soldiers and returned to the soldiers shortly after. They drank the tea and let the man pass. He went to Ramallah and came back in the evening to pass the same checkpoint. He asked for his shoes and his hat to the same soldiers who had taken them away from him the same day. The soldiers let him pass the checkpoint and asked him to wait. They pointed at the place where they had left his things. The man put on the hat. He then put on his shoes, but realised shortly after that they were full of water. The water was warm. He took of his shoes and poared the water out of the shoes, and noticed the yellow colour of the "water". He put his shoes on again, went back to the soldiers and said to them;
There will never be peace between Palestine and Israel when you piss in our shoes and we piss in your tea.
Genialt..
SvarSlettWow, this is such a dramatical story. I hope there will eventually be peace between the two countries for the younger generation's sake. The queen of Jordan was on CNN last, very intelligent young woman and she gave some insight on the situation the Palestine people live under.
SvarSlettHei Dukkeba
SvarSlettFlytter til helgen. Håper at Pia ikke blir stresset av det i denne situasjonen. Hun og Gulliver har fått et horisontaldelt hus. Pia bor i første. Ganske tidig.
